Athletics Lower Waipa

Today 11/11/16 some kids from Koromatua went
to Lower waipa to represent our school in...

High Jump
Long jump
Sprints

Middle distance                          
Shot put
Discus and
Relays.

Some of our Koromatua athletes came 1st 2nd 3rd 4th and in the middle in some of the sports but overall our school team did awesome.

ROOM 9's ASSEMBLY

On Friday 21st of October Room 9 had our own Assembly. We dressed up for the occasion and it was amazing, absolutely amazing.

We danced to two songs and sang two songs.

It was talented and the costumes matched the dances.

The songs we danced to was:

That Power By Justin Bieber and Dynamite By Taio Cruz

The songs we sang were:

Mr Clicketty Cane By Peter Combe and

 Hall of fame By Will.I.Am

There were HEAPS of parents at our performance (like not even joking) heaps.

There were a lot of cameras and phones taking videos and pictures of us!!

Smarts Inquiry

Room 9 has been doing our Smarts inquiry based on the OLYMPICS!

In Room 9 we did Minecraft selfies.This is my picture.We had to figure out the area and perimeter. We really had to use our brain instead of a calculator.

Speeches

Koromatua School got a couple of weeks to prepare a speech to present.
First we presented in front of our class.If we got high scores from our teacher we got into the quarter finals which means we have to present  in front of  judges from outside of the school.
I was in the small group from my class who got to present in front of the judges.
I came first out of the Year 5 girls. I talked about Helen Keller.

Helen Keller was Deaf Blind and Mute.She became an American Author, A Political Activist (A person who stands up for what she believes is true for her country) and a Lecturer (A teacher at university level).
She was an inspiration to me and a whole lot more people and achieved goals despite her challenges.

Soon I will be going to Ohaupo Lower Waipa speech finals,we will be versing a lot of schools!!!
